A Tall Tale of the Green Goblin Tree written by Kimberly M. Hall

Once upon a time, a bible was locked inside a bottle by a medieval genie. The book was sealed and buried in the darkest waters of the bottomless sea. It's still a mystery, and don't ask me why? Those were the days of auld when no one spoke of bible stories or fairy tales.

When his first child was born, Poseidon, a God of the sea, discovered the bottle floating under water and opened it. Mirror images of his life appeared in the sea. Poseidon, a serpent king, knowing that a human would not survive under the deep water; drove a seahorse, with the bottle grasped in one hand, to the top of the bottomless sea and delivered it safely into eternity.

He placed the bottle in the dirt sand somewhere on the coastline near a goblin tree. Right before his eyes, the tree began to grow tall, taller and its very tallest. This day was the very first Halloween.

Unbeknownst to Poseidon, the mirror images were blurry. With hope still in his heart, he disappeared back into the deepest waters while granting a farewell wish to the goblin tree.

Halloween evolved on to reveal the signs of time into four seasons; which were winter, spring, summer and autumn. Winter brought the far Eastern Tradewinds; there was Newfoundland in the spring; the summer, groundbreaking heatwaves that cave and sink in. This was the first biblical year.

That next autumn, perched under the tree, sat a green goblin, a frightful sight to see. Atop of a giant green pumpkin, what a whimsical world this must be.

Jump down and walk over to a new kind of tree, where autumn yields and falls prey to one lonely old me.
