Polka the Elephant King written by me, Kimberly M. Hall

A very long time ago, safari animals lived free throughout the jungle lands.  Tame or wild, they managed to work well enough together to protect the rainforest from land thieves, who would rummage and pilfer them throughout the night. Stop juggling their things around you land thieves, exhaled Mother Nature.  You’re destroying the game prizes.

A vicious fight broke out anyway and the land got captured by then, two, up to no good wisemen, who moved in and built cages to prevent the animals from attacking anyone else.  Soon thereafter came the carnival tents which became home to the stage performances of the traveling three ring circus.  The brothers then went on to invent the fun games and amusement rides of the current day theme parks.

On one, not so average day, the musical notes of a great horn was heard from a very long distance, announcing the birth of the first animal who would become king.  Polka, the first colored, royal elephant.  Polka was chosen king, not due to his size, but because of his pride.

Pride, not in the sense of accomplishment, but at showing pride in the environment, which was symbolized on each color dot printed on his grey mammoth canvas. The colors are remarkably painted on to reflect the wider scenery of the animal kingdom.  Blue as the early riser’s first peek at the morning sky.  Yellow as the dry, Californian golden raisin sun.  Mint green as the appointed leaves on top of a desert sand palm tree.

Pride is colour!

The paint was made from argan oils found somewhere in the magic kingdom.  Legend has it that someday the paintings would come alive and take on a life of their own.

Who would think that when you have seen an elephant that it may have just walked in right out of your dreams.

Dream big, proud brothers and sisters.
